Mobile App - Member Guide

Welcome to the Faith Sync mobile app! This guide will help you get started and make the most of your church's app.

Getting Started

Download the App

Faith Sync is available on:

• iOS: App Store (iOS 15.1+)
• Android: Google Play Store (Android 7.0+)

Search for "Faith Sync" or use the link provided by your church.

Select Your Church

When you first open the app:

1. You'll see a search bar to find your church
2. Type your church name
3. Select your church from the results
4. The app will load your church's custom branding

Create an Account

To access all features:

1. Tap Sign Up
2. Enter your email address and create a password
3. Fill in your name and profile details
4. Optionally add your phone number and address
5. Or use Sign in with Google for faster signup

Log In

If you already have an account:

1. Tap Log In
2. Enter your email and password
3. Tap Sign In

Forgot your password? Tap "Forgot Password" to reset it via email.

App Navigation

The app uses five main tabs at the bottom:

Home	Quick access to all features, prayers, videos, committees
Events	Upcoming events and booking
News	Church announcements
Chat	Group chats and messaging
Account	Your profile, settings, donations

Home Tab

The Home tab is your central hub for accessing church features.

Quick Access Grid

Tap any icon to navigate to:

• Prayers - Devotionals and prayer content
• Videos - Sermon recordings
• Committees - Church groups and ministries
• Give - Make a donation
• About - Church information
• Contact - Send a message to church

Announcements (News Tab)

Stay updated with church news and updates.

Viewing Announcements

1. Tap the News tab
2. Browse the list of announcements
3. Tap any announcement to read the full content

Pinned Announcements

Important announcements appear at the top with a pin icon.

Events (Events Tab)

See what's happening at your church.

Browsing Events

1. Tap the Events tab
2. See upcoming events with dates and times
3. Tap an event for full details

Event Details

Each event shows:

• Event name and image
• Date and time
• Location
• Description
• Book/RSVP button (if available)

Booking an Event

If event booking is available:

1. Tap the event
2. Tap Book or RSVP
3. Fill in any required information
4. Confirm your booking

Your Bookings

View your event bookings:

1. Go to the Account tab
2. Tap My Bookings
3. See all your upcoming and past bookings

Events you've already booked display a badge indicator on the event listing.

Group Chats (Chat Tab)

Connect with church groups through messaging.

Viewing Your Chats

1. Tap the Chat tab
2. See all group chats you're a member of
3. Tap a chat to open it

Chat Features

Within a group chat, you can:

• Send Messages - Type and send text messages
• Send Images - Share photos from your device
• See User Avatars - Profile photos appear next to messages
• View Member Profiles - Tap someone's avatar to view their profile
• React to Messages - Tap and hold to add emoji reactions
• Reply to Messages - Swipe to reply to specific messages
• Star Messages - Bookmark important messages
• Vote on Polls - Participate in group polls

Chat Info

Tap the chat name at the top to see:

• Chat description
• Member list
• Shared media gallery
• Pinned messages

Prayers

Access prayers and devotional content.

Viewing Prayers

1. From Home, tap Prayers
2. Browse available prayers
3. Tap to read the full prayer

Languages

If prayers are available in multiple languages, you'll see a language filter at the top.

Videos

Watch sermons and church videos.

Browsing Videos

1. From Home, tap Videos
2. See the list of available videos
3. Tap to watch

Video Playback

• Tap to play/pause
• Use controls for volume and fullscreen
• Videos are hosted on YouTube - we only store the link to your YouTube video

Giving / Donations

Support your church financially.

Making a Donation

1. From Home, tap Give, or go to Account > Donate
2. Select a fund (if multiple options)
3. Enter your donation amount or select a suggested amount
4. Enter your payment information
5. Review and confirm

Payment Methods

Faith Sync accepts:

• Credit cards
• Debit cards
• Apple Pay (on iOS)
• Google Pay (on Android)

Covering Fees

If offered, you can add a small amount to cover processing fees, ensuring your full donation reaches the church.

Recurring Donations

Set up automatic recurring donations:

1. During donation, select Make Recurring
2. Choose frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
3. Complete your first donation
4. Future donations are automatic

Managing Recurring Donations

View and manage recurring donations:

1. Go to the Account tab
2. Tap Recurring Donations
3. View, pause, or cancel subscriptions

Donation History

View your giving history:

1. Go to the Account tab
2. Tap Donation History
3. See all past donations with receipt numbers

Surveys

Share your feedback with church leadership.

Taking a Survey

1. Surveys appear in the Home screen when available
2. Tap a survey to begin
3. Answer each question
4. Required questions are marked with an asterisk
5. Tap Submit when finished

Anonymous Surveys

Some surveys are anonymous - your identity won't be recorded with your responses.

Account Tab

Manage your account and personal information.

Your Profile

1. Tap the Account tab
2. Tap Profile to view your information
3. Tap Edit to update:
   • Name
   • Phone number
   • Address
   • Profile photo

Household

If you're part of a household:

1. Go to Account
2. Tap My Household
3. See family members and household information

My Bookings

View all your event RSVPs:

1. Go to Account
2. Tap My Bookings

My Survey Responses

View your submitted survey responses:

1. Go to Account
2. Tap My Survey Responses

Surveys you've already completed display a badge indicator on the survey listing.

Settings

Access app settings:

1. Go to Account
2. Tap Settings
3. Configure notification preferences
4. Log out if needed

Notifications

Enabling Notifications

Stay updated with push notifications:

1. When prompted, allow notifications
2. Or go to device Settings > Faith Sync > Notifications

What You'll Receive

• New announcements
• Event reminders
• New videos
• Chat messages

Managing Notifications

To adjust notifications:

1. Go to device Settings
2. Find Faith Sync
3. Toggle notifications as desired

Tips for Best Experience

1. Enable notifications to never miss important updates
2. Complete your profile for personalized experience
3. Check announcements regularly for church news
4. Book early for popular events
5. Set up recurring giving for consistent support
6. Join group chats to stay connected with your community

Troubleshooting

App won't load

1. Check your internet connection
2. Force close and reopen the app
3. Try reinstalling the app

Can't log in

1. Verify your email is correct
2. Try "Forgot Password"
3. Contact your church admin

Not receiving notifications

1. Check device notification settings
2. Ensure notifications are enabled for Faith Sync
3. Try logging out and back in

Content not updating

1. Pull down to refresh
2. Check your internet connection
3. Force close and reopen the app

Privacy & Security

• Your data belongs to your church
• Payment information is securely processed by Stripe
• You control your notification preferences
• You can request account deletion through your church
