Content Management
Faith Sync provides tools to share content with your community. This guide covers announcements, prayers, and videos, all managed from the Content section of the admin console.
Announcements
Announcements are the primary way to communicate news and updates to your community.
Viewing Announcements
Navigate to Content > Announcements to see all announcements.
The list shows:
- Title - Announcement headline
- Is Active - Whether members can see it
- Is Pinned - Whether it appears at the top
- Created - When it was created
Creating an Announcement
- Click Add Announcement in the top right
- Fill in the fields:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Title | The headline displayed prominently in the app | Yes |
| Content | The full announcement body (rich text editor) | Yes |
| Is Active | Whether members can see this announcement | Yes |
| Is Pinned | Pin to top of the announcements list | No |
| Send Push Notification | Notify members immediately when saved | No |
Using the Rich Text Editor
The content field includes a rich text editor that allows you to:
- Format text (bold, italic, underline)
- Add headings and lists
- Insert links
- Add images
- Create tables
Pinning Announcements
Pinned announcements always appear at the top of the list in the app, regardless of when they were created.
To pin an announcement:
- Edit the announcement
- Check Is Pinned
- Save
Push Notifications for Announcements
When creating an announcement, check Send Push Notification to immediately notify all members who have the app installed and notifications enabled.
Best Practices:
- Reserve push notifications for important or time-sensitive news
- Don't send push notifications for every announcement
- Members can disable notifications, so don't rely solely on them
Prayers
Share prayers, devotionals, and spiritual content with your community.
Viewing Prayers
Navigate to Content > Prayers to see all prayer content.
Creating a Prayer
- Click Add Prayer
- Fill in the fields:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Prayer or devotional title | Yes |
| Content | The full prayer text (rich text editor) | Yes |
| Language | Which language this prayer is in | Yes |
| Is Active | Whether members can see it | Yes |
Multi-Language Support
Prayers support multiple languages. When creating a prayer:
- Select the appropriate language from the dropdown
- Enter the title and content in that language
- Members will see prayers filtered by their preferred language
To add languages for your church, go to Configuration > Languages.
Videos
Share sermon recordings, worship sessions, and other video content.
Viewing Videos
Navigate to Content > Videos to see all videos.
Adding a Video
- Click Add Video
- Fill in the fields:
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Video title displayed in the app | Yes |
| Url | YouTube video link (we only store the link, not the video) | Yes |
A push notification is automatically sent to members when you add a new video.
Supported Video Platforms
Faith Sync supports YouTube videos. Paste the full URL in any of these formats:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_IDhttps://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID
The app extracts the video ID from your link and plays the video directly from YouTube. Your videos remain hosted on YouTube - we only store the link.
Content Best Practices
Consistency
- Post announcements on a regular schedule
- Members will learn when to check for updates
Quality Over Quantity
- One well-crafted announcement is better than many hasty ones
- Ensure videos are properly titled before sharing
Engagement
- Use images in announcements when possible
- Tie content to upcoming events
Troubleshooting
Announcement not appearing in app
- Check that Is Active is checked in Announcements
- Wait a few moments for the app to sync
- Members may need to pull-to-refresh in the app
Video not playing
- Verify the URL is from YouTube
- Ensure the video is public (not private or unlisted)
- Check that the URL is the full video URL, not a playlist
Push notification not received
- Check that push notifications are enabled for your church
- Member may have notifications disabled on their device
- Push notifications require the app to be installed (not just web access)
