Committees

Organize church groups, ministries, and teams with the Committees feature, managed from People > Committees.

Overview

Committees allow you to:

  • Create groups for ministries and teams
  • Assign members to committees
  • Display committee information in the app
  • Track committee membership

Managing Committees

Viewing Committees

Navigate to People > Committees to see all committees.

The list shows:

  • Name - Committee name
  • Description - Brief description
  • Members - Number of members
  • Image - Committee photo (if uploaded)

Creating a Committee

  1. Click Add Committee
  2. Fill in the details:

Adding Members to Committees

After creating a committee:

  1. Edit the committee in Committees
  2. In the Members section, click Add
  3. Select app users to add
  4. Save
Note: Only registered app users can be added to committees.

Removing Members

  1. Edit the committee
  2. Find the member in the list
  3. Click the delete icon next to their name
  4. Save

How Members See Committees

In the mobile app, members can:

Browse Committees

  • View list of all committees
  • See committee descriptions
  • View committee images

Committee Details

  • See who's on each committee
  • View member names
  • Contact information (if enabled)

Their Membership

  • See which committees they belong to
  • View on their profile

Using Committees with Messaging

Committees work well with the messaging feature:

  1. Create a committee (e.g., "Youth Ministry")
  2. Add members to the committee
  3. Create a group chat for the same group
  4. Add the same members to the group chat

This allows committee members to:

  • See their committee membership in the app
  • Communicate via the group chat
  • Share files and coordinate activities

Best Practices

Naming

  • Use clear, descriptive names
  • Be consistent with terminology
  • Avoid abbreviations

Descriptions

  • Explain what the committee does
  • Include meeting times if regular
  • Note how to get involved

Images

  • Use photos of the team
  • Or use representative images
  • Keep images consistent in style

Membership

  • Keep lists current
  • Remove inactive members
  • Add new members promptly

Privacy Notes

What's Visible

  • Committee names and descriptions are visible to all members
  • Committee member names are visible
  • Contact information depends on settings

What's Protected

  • Member email/phone is not shared directly
  • Only basic profile info is shown
  • Members control their own privacy

Troubleshooting

Committee not showing in app

  1. Verify the committee is saved in Committees
  2. Check that at least one member is added
  3. Members may need to refresh the app

Can't add member

  1. Verify the person has an app account
  2. Check they're not already a member
  3. Ensure you have admin permissions

Image not displaying

  1. Check image format (PNG, JPG)
  2. Verify file isn't too large
  3. Try uploading a different image
